Join us for a celebration in East L.A.

LOS ANGELES — L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly-operated health plan in the country, is proud to announce the grand opening of its sixth Family Resource Center (FRC) in Los Angeles County. The new 8,344-square-foot East L.A. FRC is at 4801 Whittier Boulevard in East Los Angeles. L.A. Care's FRCs offer a fun and engaging space to learn about healthy living and strategies to improve your health.

This is just one more step in our plan to open a total of 13 Family Resource Centers across the county. These centers become important parts of the community, places to connect and learn valuable information for you and your family.

--John Baackes
CEO, L.A. Care

All of our FRC classes and services are free and open to L.A. Care members and the wider community. L.A. Care members can access all of the same services that they would receive through our member services call center, including help finding a primary care physician, requesting an ID card, or seeking assistance with an authorization.

We are excited to fill a need in one more L.A. County community. Please join us for a grand opening celebration on Saturday, February 9, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. There will be:

  • Music
  • A rock climbing wall
  • Face painting
  • Popcorn and other snacks
  • Raffles
  • Health screenings

Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the East L.A. Family Resource Center. You can pick up a calendar of classes which include Cardio Dancercise, Zumba, Kids' Boot Camp, Juicing for a Healthy Life, CPR/First Aid, and many more.
