L.A. Care Offers Free Flu Shot Clinics at Three Family Resource Centers

LOS ANGELES – More than 80,000 people died from the flu last season in the United States. An estimated 900,000 were hospitalized. While medical professionals always promote the flu vaccine for the elderly, children and those with major health problems, they were surprised that many of the cases last year involved younger patients who were otherwise healthy.

With that in mind, L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly-operated health plan in the country, is stepping in to help Angelenos protect themselves.

People often balk at getting a flu shot, but the startling numbers from last year should cause everyone to reconsider. L.A. Care is committed to keeping our members and our community healthy.

L.A. Care will hold three flu shot clinics over the next few weeks.
