What are Family Resource Centers

L.A. Care's Family Resource Centers offer free health and wellness classes in six communities across Los Angeles County: Boyle Heights, East L.A., Inglewood, Lynwood, Pacoima and Palmdale. Join a class to learn about nutrition, talk about parenting, share caregiving challenges or dance your stress away!

Classes are free and open to L.A. Care members and the entire community. Visit your local Family Resource Center today and experience the support, services and resources that can help you live your healthiest life.

Health
Education

Wellness education classes on many health topics including asthma, diabetes, nutrition and more. Learn about the symptoms, causes and how to make changes to help manage chronic diseases.

Health
Screenings

Screenings are used to check for health conditions before there are any signs or symptoms. Our centers provide blood pressure, blood sugar level, hearing, and early childhood development screenings.

Mental
Health

Wellness education classes on various mental health topics including anxiety, depression, trauma and more. Learn about the symptoms and how to deal with different mental health illnesses.

Fitness
Classes

Fitness classes vary from Cardio Exercise classes to Tai Chi. Kid-friendly classes include Kid's Boot Camp and Dance Aerobics.

Coming Soon: L.A. Care and Blue Shield Promise Community Resource Centers

L.A. Care and Blue Shield Promise are committing a combined $146 million to develop and expand Community Resource Centers across Los Angeles County. Over the next five years, the health plans will jointly open seven new centers, and rename and renovate the existing seven L.A. Care Family Resource Centers.
